MSc student in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences
Who am I?
As you can guess from my name, I was born in the Basque Country, north part of Spain, more specifically in Barakaldo. I moved to Barcelona for my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences in the Biology Faculty of the University of Barcelona.
I have always enjoyed Biology, Chemistry, Math... I enjoy learning by practice rather than studying by hard. This is something that I confirmed during my bachelor years, which made me discover a true passion for human health, data analysis, statistics... In short, I found out Bioinformatics was the perfect field for me.
This lead to my next step, the Bioinformatics for Health Sciences master in the University Pompeu Fabra, currently in my first year.
2021–2025
BSc Biomedical Sciences · University of Barcelona
2025
Erasmus Internship · Roskilde Universitet
Currently in first year (2025-2027)
MSc Bioinformatics for Health Science · Pompeu Fabra University
Lab experience
Even though now life consists of screens and programming, I have always enjoyed wet lab. Thanks to all the practical hours during my BSc I acquiered a lot of lab experience.
In the photo you can see some of the good friends I met at the Biology Faculty.
Stay in Denmark
In 2025, I lived in Denmark for 5 months to carry out my bachelor's final project in Roskilde Universitet, Sjælland.
For my TFG, the bachelor's final project, I performed RNA-Seq gene expression analysis to test the differential seizure sensitivity in two different mice strains.
It was a pure Bioinformatics projects, which helped me get an idea of this world.
I obviously liked it very much.
Bioinformatics master
I am currenlty pursuing my master's studies, which have been a great challenge for me.
I am learning many new things, and I feel like I am expanding my skills, gaining a lot of knowledge and finding very useful resources for my future research career.
I also have been lucky enough to run into a lot of nice people, who make this journey easier.
