Discovering Botswana

A Family Expedition Through the Heart of Southern Africa

We, a family of four, embarked on an unforgettable journey in August 2018, navigating the famed "Lost River" route through Botswana and Victoria Falls. Our focus was primarily on Botswana, an often-overlooked gem and one of the world's most stunning wildlife sanctuaries, deserving of a special expedition.

Amidst the contrasting landscapes, exclusive reserves, abundant wildlife, and friendly locals, Botswana's semi-tropical climate and political stability add to its allure. Join us as we venture to the heart of Southern Africa in search of the "Lost River"!

We uncovered nature's wonders, including the expansive Makgadikgadi Pans, the largest salt pans on Earth, the breathtaking Okavango Delta, and the iconic Victoria Falls We unveiled one of Botswana's best-kept secrets the secondlargest zebra migration on the planet, observed along the Boteti River in Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. An exhilarating helicopter scenic flight allowed us to marvel at the vastness of the salt pans. Our journey involved helicopter flights over the entire delta and navigating its maze of channels in speedboats and mekoro canoes. Exploring Botswana's best national and private wildlife sanctuaries by 4x4 and boat, from the heart of the Okavango Delta in Moremi to the exclusive and wild Savute area in Chobe National Park. We witnessed herds of elephants just meters away from the terrace at Elephant Sands. As a finale, we soared over the Victoria Falls in a helicopter and bid farewell to the African continent.
