MSc student in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences
Universitat Pompeu Fabra & Universitat de Barcelona
Guided by curiosity and interest in science, data, and how complex systems fit together. As an MSc student in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences, I'm exploring how computational thinking and biological questions come together in meaningful ways.
- Contributed to the lab's translational research on immunometabolism and cardiometabolic disease.
- Supported both experimental and clinical components of ongoing projects, collaborating closely with team members to implement protocols, process human-derived samples, and ensure high-quality data generation.
- Maintained laboratory operations by organizing workflows, managing inventory and procurement, and preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments.
- Developed and optimized fluorescent reporter assays in cell cultures; analyzed experimental outcomes using PCR-based methods, transfection workflows, and confocal microscopy data.
- Performed antibody validation using ELISA assays, including optimization, quantitative analysis, and result interpretation.
- Supported laboratory data integrity and safety compliance through structured organization, inventory management, and staff training.
- Supported PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in organic and inorganic synthesis projects, including structural and analytical characterization using NMR, ESI-MS, IR, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography.
- Delivered departmental NMR and ESI-MS analytical services, including sample preparation, data acquisition, and preliminary data quality checks.
- Maintained laboratory organization and operational readiness, ensuring proper handling of reagents, equipment, and shared facilities.
