Sarracenia flava
Sarracenia flava, commonly known as the Yellow Pitcher Plant, is characterized by its tall, trumpet-shaped pitchers which can reach heights of nearly a meter. Native to the coastal plains of the southeastern United States, it utilizes a passive pitfall trap mechanism. Insects are attracted by nectar secretions on the peristome and lid, become intoxicated, and fall into the digestive fluid at the base of the tube.
