About Me

Hey there! I'm Wael, a Lebanese adventurer who's just as excited about exploring the great outdoors as I am about decoding the mysteries of bioinformatics. You’ll often find me hiking up a mountain, soaking in the beauty of nature, or deep in code, figuring out the next challenge in computational biology.

I believe in the perfect balance—pushing my mind to its limits with algorithms and data, then resetting it with breathtaking views and a good meal (Lebanese food is undefeated!). Whether it's unraveling genomic data or planning my next trek, I'm always up for a challenge.

Let’s connect—whether it’s to chat about bioinformatics, hiking trails, or just exchange good food recommendations!

Lebanon & Nature

Lebanon is a land of breathtaking landscapes, where towering mountains, lush valleys, and the deep blue Mediterranean Sea come together in perfect harmony. From the snow-capped peaks of Mount Lebanon to the vast, green Qadisha Valley, our country offers an incredible variety of natural beauty.

But Lebanon isn’t just about stunning views—it’s also a land of rich flavors and warm hospitality. Our cuisine is a celebration of fresh ingredients, vibrant spices, and generations of tradition. And perhaps one of the most unique aspects of Lebanon is our religious diversity. Churches and mosques stand side by side, reflecting centuries of coexistence and shared history.

Hiking & Adventures

There’s something about the outdoors that keeps pulling me back. Whether it's snowshoeing through snow-covered peaks, chasing sunsets over the mountains, or wandering through ancient cedar forests, hiking is more than just a hobby... it's a way to disconnect and reset.

Lebanon’s landscapes offer endless trails, from rugged cliffs to quiet forest paths, and I’m always up for the next adventure. Some hikes push me beyond my limits, others remind me to slow down and take it all in. Either way, every journey leaves me with a story to tell and a view worth the climb.

Bioinformatics & Projects

My passion lies at the intersection of biology and computational science. I'm deeply interested in drug discovery, omics data analysis, and the power of machine learning in biomedical research.

From analyzing genetic sequences to building predictive models, bioinformatics challenges me to solve real-world biological problems with code.

My Projects

Clustal Omega Web App

A web-based tool for multiple sequence alignment using Clustal Omega.

RNA-Seq Data Model

Designed a relational database model to store and manage RNA-seq study data, including gene expression values, sequencing details, and sample metadata.

Drug_Info_Browser

A web-based tool that helps users browse and filter drugs based on factors such as side effects, manufacturer, drug interactions, and more.
